Freed-Hardeman University's Master of Education in School Counseling equips graduates for licensure as a K-12 school counselor in Tennessee. Our hybrid online program prepares empathetic, skilled professionals to serve students holistically — addressing academic, social-emotional and career development needs in today's diverse school environments.
I chose this program because it aligned with both my goals and my values. I wanted a program that would prepare me to support students holistically while also emphasizing ethical responsibility and servant leadership. The smaller class environment and focus on real-world application fit how I learn best and matched my desire to grow into a school counselor who can collaborate with students, families, teachers, and communities. FHU felt like a place where I could strengthen both my counseling skills and my purpose for serving others.
